Muscle spasms

Muscle spasms are the result of an involuntary contraction of the muscles, the main cause of which is stress, holding a wrong position for too long, muscle fatigue, dehydration or careless use of a specific area of the body.

Although muscle spasm is a more or less common condition, there are a number of factors that can trigger a pattern and become a cause of alarm for patients. Some of these risk factors are age, overweight or obese people, pregnant patients or high-level athletes.

While there's no need to be alarmed, if you've identified a pattern of muscle spasms, it's best to consult your doctor, as this could be part of the clinical picture of a more significant condition.

Better hydration of the body, moderate exercise and a proper warm-up before training are just some of the practices that can improve your condition. Find out how the intervention of a therapist can help improve these symptoms.
