What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual therapy whose aim is to identify and treat all mobility-related restrictions. Any loss of mobility in joints, muscles, ligaments or viscera can be the cause of a symptom, pain or organ malfunction. The osteopath's aim is to restore mechanical harmony to the body as a whole, based on human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.
At Physiobalance, in addition to our regular clientele, we treat newborns for problems such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, excessive crying, motor delay, facial asymmetry, constipation, flat head, sleep disorders and more. We also treat pregnant and postpartum women to alleviate all ailments that arise during and after pregnancy.
Our osteopaths
All Physiobalance osteopaths have completed five years of full-time training and are members of Ostéopathie Québec. Some have additional training in physiotherapy, which enables them to take a holistic approach to the various disorders you may face on a daily basis.
Our osteopaths can help you restore the functionality of all your body's structures, promoting its ability to self-regulate. They can also help you better manage many health problems, such as sleep disorders, digestive problems, headaches, migraines and other discomforts.
At all times, when the patient's condition requires it, the osteopath will not hesitate to refer him or her to a doctor or other health professional. Physiobalance therapists are committed to working in collaboration with the medical and paramedical fields to ensure appropriate care.
Precise, customized techniques
There are several osteopathic techniques for treating the musculoskeletal system, the organs and the nervous system. Using manipulations adapted to the patient and his or her history, the osteopath undoes the entire chain of lesions at the origin of the dysfunction in order to provide lasting results. At all times, osteopathic gestures remain within the physiological field and do not force structures.
